I've been out of public life for a couple years, but I thought the challenges that exist both in our state and our country needed people to step up and fight for what they believe in. And so I came out of what you would call public life retirement, not actual retirement, to run for this office, because I believe my skills, uniquely, could help serve the people of this state.
