And so I don't understand when people say empty out rikers and put them back into the communities who are inflicted with violence. People who commit these crimes don't deserve to be on our streets. Homicides are down more than 23% so far this year. they are down 36%. When you compare to the same six month period in 2021, right before we came into office, robberies, felony assaults, burglaries, and grand larceny and auto theft have all continued to decline this year.
