Right now, people with student loan debt are just not able to make their student loan payments. On top of the higher costs of groceries and gas and housing and everything else, already Roughly 5 million borrowers are in default and another 4 million people are severely late on their payments. If those 4 million people slip even just a tiny bit, they're going to fall right off that cliff. Now, to me, it's a flashing red alarm that people in our economy are struggling a lot. (00:27–00:36)
