When fellow council members refused to sign on to proclamations for honoring June as Pride Month, I brought my own proclamations forward to make sure that our LGBTQ community feels supported. I was also one of only two of three of us that chose to speak at the HELP LGBTQ Candidate Forum. because I thought it was important to show how responsive we are or I am to that particular community and make sure that their questions were answered.
