Recognize for one minute. Mr. Speaker, we aren't going to stand idly by as the proposed 520 job cut at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base threatens to damage eastern North Carolina's economy. The Air Force's plan to eliminate an entire squadron at Seymour Johnson is absolutely unacceptable. Safeguarding our national security and preserving these jobs are not mutually exclusive. The Air Force must acknowledge that eliminating a fighter squadron in Wayne county would be devastating for this already economically distressed community. (00:16–00:25)
