Don Beyer Will Vote NO on the Senate's Proposed Continuing Resolution

Published | Video Starts at 00:32

Look, I've said from the beginning, my goal is to end this government shutdown in a way that protects Americans from skyrocketing health care costs, and this bill doesn't do that. It does include provisions to reverse the illegal rifts during the shutdown. It does reinstate federal workers who were wrongfully terminated, but it only prevents further rifts through the duration of the cr, and then they can be fired again. And the larger legislation remains deeply flawed. It doesn't address the health care affordability crisis at all. It fails to address Trump's illegal infringement on Congress's constitutional authority over federal spending, and it doesn't rein in the Trump administration's lawlessness. (00:32–00:40)

CLAIM
