In the most recent Supreme Court case of Louisiana vs Calais, the court had an opportunity to protect this representation for all Americans, especially those who've been historically disenfranchised by gerrymandering and other discriminatory voting practices. Instead, The Court's conservative supermajority has again turned its back on the promise of equal rights to vote, further gutting the Voting Rights Act. The impact is already being felt across the south, and so far it's exclusively the south, primarily in the former Confederate States.
