Under the previous administration, the VA bought the loans from a lending institution, lowered the interest rate to 2.5%. The rest of the American public paid for that because the lending institution was made whole. Then The VA had to contract back with the institutions they just bought the loan from to service the loan. because they didn't know how to do it. That's why that program went away.
