We had hearings. We had hearings to get to 31amphibs in the law. Navy didn't like it. SECNAV didn't like it. The Marines did like it. We passed that requiring 31amphibs. The law actually says the naval combat forces of the Navy shall include not less than 11 operational aircraft carriers, not less than 31 operational amphibious warships, of which not less than 10 shall be amphibious assault ships. Secretary of the Navy came here two years ago and his shipbuilding plan, he didn't hit 31amphibs at all. How do you think this committee responded to that? (02:34–02:51)
