He then became the athletic director at the University of Minnesota and hired Willie Warmouth, who was the coach when the Gophers won the Rose bowl back in the 60s. And my mom's family, they emigrated from Germany in at least my great, great grandfather in 1830ish, they took a steamship across the ocean, went to New Orleans, took the paddle wheel up Mississippi, ended up in St. Paul.
