It can mean demanding documents, reviewing inspector general reports, requesting audits, visiting federal facilities, or using the appropriations process to make sure taxpayer dollars are being spent in a way Congress intended them to be spent. And this matters because Federal agencies have a lot of power. They write rules, run programs, manage grants, and make decisions that affect our families, businesses, farmers, ranchers, veterans, and the communities across Utah. But the people making many of those decisions are not elected members of Congress are. So when an agency oversteps, wastes money, delays action, or carries out a law in a way that Congress never intended, it's our job to step in. (00:56–01:10)
