Now during that last campaign, I was quite clear that I thought that opponent was totally unsuitable to be mayor of the city of Buffalo. And I ran that write in campaign to save the city, to salvage the city from someone that I thought if they ever got to that office, did not have the temperament, didn't have the experience, didn't have the preparation for the office of mayor and would have run our city into the ground. That was one of the reasons that I worked so hard. And I think that was one of the reasons why people all across the city and all across the region joined with me to win that historic write in campaign with over 38,000 votes. (16:39–17:05)
