And Direct Contract is a model with the promise to give employees, employers, a new way to work with providers, reduce administrative costs and focus more on patient care. By giving employers greater flexibility on how they provide health care, they are better able to meet the needs of their employees at an affordable price. We need more innovation and solutions like this provided by direct contracting. Dr. Savage, in your written testimony, you shared how emergency department usage, inpatient hospital admissions, and overall health care service demands all dropped with Direct Contracting patients.
