So the English Civil War was an effort to reclaim ancient liberties. So too, the American Revolution was an effort to reclaim English liberties. So The Texas Revolution was an effort to reclaim that constitutional liberty and republican government to which the Texans had habituated in the land of their birth, the United States of America. There's a reason that the first de facto flag of the United States featured a British Union Jack in the corner.
