Well, there's a number of things that breed extremism. Closed primaries and low voter turnout. And both of them are the case. Well, low turnout is the case in all 50 states. Closed primaries is the case in over, I'm sorry, just under half the states in this country. And the combination of those two are absolutely lethal to moderation, centrism and bipartisanship.
