I'm New York City Controller Brad Lander, and I'm here this morning to release a report whose title unfortunately speaks entirely for itself. Evictions up. Representation down. At a time of skyrocketing rents, The Adams administration is failing utterly to provide legal representation to low income tenants facing eviction who have a right to counsel under New York City law. That the Adams administration is entirely failing to meet. This right to council is one of the laws that I was proudest to co sponsor when I was a city council member. (10:32–10:44)
