We've got to start from recognizing the work that creative workers do and recognize it's like human beings. The institutions are critical, but it is the people that make it up that power it. So As mayor, I will focus on incentivizing the creation and long term preservation of affordable permanent artist spaces. That's what we did in the Gowanus rezoning, working very closely together, Karen Atlas and Esther Robinson and I and some others where we rewarded developments in which a floor of the Building will be used for affordable arts and artisan spaces.
