New York recorded more than $750 million in improper unemployment insurance payments and $507 million in fraudulent payments just last year. House Republicans are focused on ensuring the services get to the people who actually need them and are not wasted or stolen. In act on the Ways and Means Committee, we've worked to put new guardrails on the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, the TANF program to mitigate improper payments and ensure states are paying their fair share for this critically important program.
