This is in part why I introduced HR 6991 was the Fair Trade act of 2026 and that was actually after a roundtable with you and we discussed it. And It would impose additional 15% tariffs on goods from countries from which the United States runs a trade deficit and a 10% on goods from countries where we run a surplus. I believe this Bill perfectly complements USTR's 2026 trade policy agenda by providing concrete leverage to secure better market access, stronger enforcement of our trade agreements and genuine reciprocity from our trading partners.
