We need the best educated workforce in the world. Right now. You got child care workers making minimum wage. We need to have decent paying workers who work in childcare should earn decent wages. We should have, as New York City is beginning to implement under Mamdani, free universal child care. And you know what? It is not a radical idea to say that in a competitive global economy all of our kids, regardless of of their income, should have the right to get a higher education, either college, trade schools, without going deeply into debt.
