Support for Israel in its country has plummeted. According to a recent Pew poll, 80% of Democrats now have an unfavorable opinion of Israel and 41% of Republicans share that view. Recent polling now indicates that 3/4 of Democrats and 2/3 of independents oppose the United States sending arms to to Israel. And that is why today I will be forcing the Senate to vote on two joint resolutions of disapproval, the only formal mechanism Congress has to block an arms sale. (05:55–06:07)
