And almost 60% say tax rates on household incomes over $400,000 should be raised. And that is what the Mayor of New York is fighting for, Along with people all over this country. In New York State and here in New York City, the American people are demanding a tax system which is progressive, which is fair, and demands those people who have the much who have the most fair share. Mayor Mamdani has proposed a surtax of 2 percentage points on New York City millionaires. That is 0.7% of total city tax base, less than fewer than 1%, which would generate approximately $3 billion annually. (24:46–25:18)
