We don't need to own the real estate. We have bases all over the world and we don't have to take over a foreign country in order to have a substantial military presence. For example, in South Korea, we have a very major military presence. We don't need to annex South Korea in order to protect the security of that region. By the same token, there is no earthly reason that we have to take over Greenland. I just don't understand this obsession unless there's something else going on behind the scenes that we're not being told. (01:04–01:14)
