I get why advocacy speak came about. It was to reduce stigma. But you don't reduce stigma by changing a word. You reduce it by changing hearts. In Kentucky, we got hit by the opioid epidemic harder than just about anybody. But maybe West Virginia, we've all lost people we love and care about. But I didn't lose one person to substance use disorder. I lost them all to addiction. (14:45–14:50)
